What does the colour black stand for?
The colour black is the darkest of all colours and, like white or grey, is classed as an achromatic colour. Black has always been considered elegant, serious and seductive – but it also stands for dominance and mourning. In any case, black is timeless and a colour classic in every collection. Which black dresses are trending for 2024?
Two cuts in black dominate the current autumn/winter 2024/2025 season: the retro dress and the shift dress. Nostalgic retro dresses, preferably in the Pantone trend colour "Dark Shadows", are currently the party hit, sometimes with feathers and fringes for the wow effect or very simple and tight with a boat neckline in the Twiggy look. As an elegant business model or for fine evening events, this year we are saying hello to the pencil dress in a sheath cut. The pencil cut in midi length with a side slit is a classic look that never goes out of fashion and is being given a new twist this winter by Ana Alcazar with cuffs, waist belts or epaulettes. Black dresses remain a classic through and through, whether for leisure, business or evening wear.
