The last century had an amazing range of fashion to offer. From Marlene Dietrich-trousers to drainpipe jeans, from petticoats to pencil skirts with golden buttons, from short blazers to trench coats – since the 1920’s there had been so many innovations in fashion, which were all the rage for a while and then secretly vanished again. But who doesn’t know the old saying: “history is repeating itself!” It’s probably the sentence most often used in the world of fashion – for a good reason: even fashion cannot constantly reinvent itself. Who would have thought that leggings, the remains from the days of aerobics in the 80’s, would become a basic piece of clothing for every fashion-conscious woman today? Fair enough, they don’t come in neon colours anymore, but in a subdued black and instead of polyester they are made from cotton – but they are back, that’s a matter of fact! In the 21st century quite a few fashion trends of the last decades have found their way back to the catwalks, in slightly revised and more modern versions. There is even a whole new fashion genre around: the retro look or vintage style: trends from the past decades in fashion are reinterpreted by contemporary designers – of course also by Ana Alcazar.
