ANA ALCAZAR Responsibility
Reducing our ecological footprint – every step counts
As a fashion brand, we are the first to openly admit to being behind where we need to be. We are constantly changing our thinking and adapting ourselves to become more sustainable. For us, it is a moral obligation to reduce our impact on the environment. The first step is to recognise, analyse and understand our impact on the environment, in order to be able to take responsibility for reducing this impact on that basis.
»WE DON'T KNOW IF FASHION CONSUMPTION CAN EVER BE SUSTAINABLE, BUT WE GO TO WORK EVERY DAY AND TRY TO MAKE IT BETTER.«
Sustainability at Ana Alcazar
Sustainability and the protection of our resources are important to us. When it comes to our choice of materials, it is not only a matter of quality, but always a matter of conscience. How high is the environmental impact, i.e., the consumption of resources and energy, in the manufacturing process? We increasingly rely on natural fabrics, such as linen and cotton, and recycled polyester is a permanent fixture in our range. The latter reduces our dependence on crude oil as a raw material and can prevent plastic from ending up in landfills. All our materials are processed with first-class workmanship and are produced fairly. Ana Alcazar has always boycotted real fur and real leather.
► Prints & dyes
In order to reduce our impact on the environment, we are always on the lookout for environmentally friendly innovations.
We produce our collections exclusively in Europe – with short transport routes and regionally available raw materials. Our five manufacturers, as well as all our partners and suppliers, share our aspirations for environmental protection, social compatibility and fairness. We bundle shipments of goods from our factories in Poland for pooled deliveries.
► Online shop
At our company, sustainability does not end with our products. We deliver our fashion in environmentally friendly, recycled cardboard boxes and, overall, have reduced our packaging to the bare minimum. Paperless invoices are standard in our company. We ship our packages with CO2-neutral shipping by DHL GoGreen.
Our state-of-the-art office is supplied with green energy. Conscious use of all resources is a matter of course for us. This includes electricity (not allowing lights to be on unnecessarily) and water. Our stated goal is to become CO2 neutral by 2025.
