Evening dresses, long and extravagant – this is how to combine them.
Quite different from short dresses, floor-length evening dresses provide fewer possibilities with regards to accessories and styling. Generally spoken, only a tiny selection of jackets or coats for instance, can be a good match with a long evening gown. The best thing to do is to wear a fake fur coat or a long blazer with a very slim fit in combination with a long robe. Another popular match is wearing boleros with long evening dresses: in this case however, it is extremely important that the fabrics and the colours go together well. As to accessories a rule of thumb is of course “less is more”, for the star of the evening is the long dress and nothing else. Elegant ear studs and a clutch, matching with the dress, are all it takes to make the perfect appearance in a long evening dress. By all means, try to avoid long necklaces, short gloves or dangle earrings that are too long.With regards to shoes, your choice is quite big. Peep-toes with heels always look good with a floor-length dress. If you are not into high heels, ballerina slippers in matching colours are possible but only with a summer robe. In winter, chic court shoes are actually a must.
