Floral patterns » A fashion romance
Floral prints exude summery flair and guarantee a good mood. It's hard to imagine fashion without floral motifs, which are rightly reinterpreted by designers every year and incorporated into their collections. Small-scale flower prints in a boho look look playful and romantic, while large-scale, opulent floral patterns make a confident fashion statement in two-piece suits, for example. Floral prints - cheers to nature!
Floral patterns are one of the oldest motifs in fashion. Garments in Asia were embroidered with filigree flowers as early as the 12th century. The trend quickly spread to Europe and at the end of the 18th century, a process was developed in Scotland that enabled fabrics to be printed easily. Flowers were among the first motifs on these printed fabrics. Floral patterns were always present in the lifestyle and fashion sector, but they experienced their greatest renaissance in the 1960s with the hippie and flower power movement. Today, the fashion pool draws on countless motifs: small millefleurs prints, large XXL flowers, Asian styles with cherry blossoms or lotus and much more are all on offer.
